On Fatherhood

Produced By Ammon Swenson

I’ve been friends with Jordan for a couple of decades now. We went to school together and grew up on the same side of town in Anchorage. We’ve even spent the last five or so years working the same job. Our lives have been running parallel for 27 years, but I've always had something he didn’t. When Jordan was a little kid, his dad died in a plane crash flying home from Yakutat in Southeast Alaska. It’s been about a year now since my good buddy had his first kid. A few months before the baby was born, I sat down with him and talked about what he thought raising a son would be like without a father of his own.
